Effervescent and incandescent, Kate Shanasy is an Australian photographer working seasonally between her home in Blairgowrie, Melbourne and Europe.

She’s an intuitive creative who rippled through the mediums of writing and videography before finding herself most enamoured with photography. Her work is driven by a sense of adventure and natural spontaneity. The result is crisp, candid and romantic photography that richly captures a moment or the brief — be it for local clients, global brands or some tickled-pink newlyweds.

Known for her ‘slightly undone’ curation, Kate’s style exudes a feeling of effortlessness and ease. She cooks, styles and edits the recipe reels in her home studio for the likes of Broadsheet and Kitchen Aid, delivering both stills and motion.

Kate is a longtime anchor contributor with Broadsheet and her work has appeared on The Design Files, QANTAS Travel Insider, Intrepid, Harper’s Bazaar, Gourmet Traveller and the front covers of Houses Magazine and Domain Review. Kate works closely with the National Gallery of Victoria and is globally represented by LA-based gallery, House of Spoils, and locally by Coastal Living with her popular DUNES series on the Mornington Peninsula.

Visit her online shop and find her latest print series, Lemon Delight / delizia al limone flush with the sorbetto hues of the Italian coastline. Bring her your blue-sky creative ideas - get in touch. x
